Terms and conditions for Scuba Junkie Liveaboards 2025:
PAYMENTS
• A 30% non-refundable Deposit is required at the time of your reservation to secure your booking.
• Komodo National Park fees must be paid in full at the time of booking, together with the 30% trip deposit.
- Park fees are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable once purchased from the National Park
Authority.
- Permits are issued for the specific dates of your booking and cannot be amended or moved to
alternative dates.
• The 70% Balance payment for your package will be due 90 days before your date of departure.
• If payments are not received by the due date and no reply is received within 3 days of our email reminder, then we reserve the right to cancel your booking.
• If payments are not made in the periods required, Scuba Junkie Liveaboards reserves the right to refuse the services contracted, retain the money paid as a deposit (30%), and resell the package.
• In the case where a reservation is made less than 89 days before the departure date, the total price must be paid at the time of reservation.
• All deposit payments, full balances and park permit fees are non-refundable.
• Discounts offered, are not applicable to permit fees, ranger fees, transfer fees or single supplement fees.
• Please note that ALL bank fees are to be paid by the sender. If the amount received does not cover your full bill, then you will be asked to pay the balance in cash, on arrival.
CANCELLATIONS AND PACKAGE CHANGES
• If after the deposit is paid you need to change the dates of your trip this may be done FOC a minimum of 121 days before trip departure.
- New dates must be within 12 months of the initial trip. e.g If the original trip was planned for 1 June 2025, the moved date must be completed by 1 June 2026
- The moved trip is subject to the published rates at the time of rebooking.
• No refunds are available in the case of illness, missed dive / snorkel trips, incompletion of dive course, late arrival due to flights, or shortening of your stay.
• No credit notes are available if you choose to change your booking date or cancel any part of your package with less than 120 day’s notice.
• In the event that you cancel your booking or request a change to your travel dates and/or details, the park
permit fees will unfortunately be forfeited, as they cannot be refunded or reassigned by the park authorities.
• We strongly recommend ensuring that you have comprehensive travel & dive insurance that covers these possibilities.
• Scuba Junkie Liveaboards reserves the right to cancel any reservation prior to departure of the scheduled trip, if an inappropriate action or the behaviour of any guests justifies it.
• Scuba Junkie Liveaboards reserves the right to cancel or shorten a guest’s trip if they engage in any unsafe behaviours such as but not limited to, not following safety protocols or engages in any illegal activities during their stay.
• If fuel prices increase by more than 10% compared to the price as at 31 December 2025, Scuba Junkie
Liveaboards reserves the right to apply a fuel surcharge.
FORCE MAJEURE OR UNFORSEEN EVENTS
• For force majeure, unforeseen events, or any other reasons, Scuba Junkie Liveaboards reserves the right to modify, interrupt or cancel a charter trip when any unforeseen events occur.
• Force majeure / unforeseen events may include but not limited to: refusal or cancellation of navigation rights by the Labuan Bajo Harbour, flight landing delays, travel restrictions, strikes, riots, civil or international war, political or economic disturbances, coup, industrial dispute, terrorist threats or activity, fire, health risks, outbreak of infectious disease, quarantine, bureaucratic obstacles, government or other official intervention, inability to obtain or shortage of fuel, power, gas, equipment transportation or product loss, theft or damage to strategic equipment, climatic, seismic or volcanic events endangering the safety of our passengers, crew and the vessel.
• In the case of force majeure or unforeseen events, you will be informed by Scuba Junkie Liveaboards as soon as possible. In these particular cases, the guest may not apply for reimbursement or refund from Scuba Junkie Liveaboards. Guests who have travel insurance taking these unforeseen events into consideration, may request reimbursement directly with their respective insurance company.
• In case of technical damage occurred aboard KLM ELIYA, preventing the departure of the cruise, Scuba Junkie Liveaboards will either:
- Provide you with an equivalent service on a similar type of boat.
- Postpone the trip without charge to a later date.
GROUP BOOKINGS AND PRIVATE CHARTERS
• If you are booking as part of a group, and one or more members are not able to attend, their payment will not be able to be credited to the remaining group members.
- Rates and discounts will also reflect the new group numbers
-Park Permits cannot be moved to a new guest as they are linked to specific travel dates and guests,
new permits would need to be purchased subject to availability.
• All group payments must be made as a group
- i.e the 30% deposit and 70% balance payment for the trip.
• Groups of over 6 pax or more including charter boats require a minimum 6 months’ notice to change their booking date as a group.
- Changes made between 4-6 months before the start of the trip will be subject to a 25% large group moving fee and discounts will be adjusted to reflect the new numbers.
- Any changes to dates will be subject to the current published rates at the time of their rebooking.
• We require guest details to purchase Park Permit Fees, delayed details may result in being unable to secure a space for a guest as there are a limited number daily.
TRANSFERS AND LAND EXCURSIONS
• All land transfers are operated by third party (not by Scuba Junkie Liveaboards). We cannot accept responsibility for any damage to personal items, injuries, or any lost flights in the unlikely event of a cancelled transfer or longer journey time due to circumstances outside of our control, such as bad weather conditions / mechanical issues.
• Land based tours (e.g: Rinca Island, Padar Island, etc.) are operated using third party (not by Scuba Junkie Liveaboards) guides and Park Rangers. We cannot accept responsibility for any damage to personal items, accidents, injuries, thefts, or cancellations.
- Park fees and Ranger Costs can change without prior knowledge and at the expense of the guests.
• All park permit fees and land based excursion rate prices are determined by the governing bodies and subject to price changes. We will update you as soon as possible of any changes on pricing or regulations.
-All fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
OTHER
• Dive insurance is a compulsory requirement to be able to dive with us. Proof of insurance will be required before you can join any dives.
• We highly recommend general travel insurance in addition to dive insurance for your trip.
• Proof of diver certification will be required for certified divers, either via email, hard copy or E copy upon check in.
• We require a copy of your passport prior to arrival to ensure all permit applications go smoothly.
• Students completing a dive course onboard will need to ensure that their online theory is completed prior to arrival. Failure to do so will mean students will be unable to join the course.
• All guests are required to complete and submit the Liability Release form prior to the boats departure.
• Scuba Junkie Liveaboards reserves the right to change the destination of dive sites and land excursions depending on weather and other conditions if need be.
• Scuba Junkie Liveaboards assumes no responsibility, and/or offer no compensation for an injury, death or damage occurred to passengers, damage, or loss to passengers’ property.
