Terms and conditions for Scuba Junkie Liveaboards 2025:

PAYMENTS
• A 30% non-refundable Deposit is required at the time of your reservation to secure your booking.
• Komodo National Park fees must be paid in full at the time of booking, together with the 30% trip deposit.
- Park fees are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable once purchased from the National Park
Authority.
- Permits are issued for the specific dates of your booking and cannot be amended or moved to
alternative dates.
• The 70% Balance payment for your package will be due 90 days before your date of departure.
• If payments are not received by the due date and no reply is received within 3 days of our email reminder, then we reserve the right to cancel your booking.
• If payments are not made in the periods required, Scuba Junkie Liveaboards reserves the right to refuse the services contracted, retain the money paid as a deposit (30%), and resell the package.
• In the case where a reservation is made less than 89 days before the departure date, the total price must be paid at the time of reservation.
• All deposit payments, full balances and park permit fees are non-refundable.
• Discounts offered, are not applicable to permit fees, ranger fees, transfer fees or single supplement fees.
• Please note that ALL bank fees are to be paid by the sender. If the amount received does not cover your full bill, then you will be asked to pay the balance in cash, on arrival.

CANCELLATIONS AND PACKAGE CHANGES
• If after the deposit is paid you need to change the dates of your trip this may be done FOC a minimum of 121 days before trip departure.
- New dates must be within 12 months of the initial trip. e.g If the original trip was planned for 1 June 2025, the moved date must be completed by 1 June 2026
- The moved trip is subject to the published rates at the time of rebooking.
• No refunds are available in the case of illness, missed dive / snorkel trips, incompletion of dive course, late arrival due to flights, or shortening of your stay.
• No credit notes are available if you choose to change your booking date or cancel any part of your package with less than 120 day’s notice.
• In the event that you cancel your booking or request a change to your travel dates and/or details, the park
permit fees will unfortunately be forfeited, as they cannot be refunded or reassigned by the park authorities.
• We strongly recommend ensuring that you have comprehensive travel & dive insurance that covers these possibilities.
• Scuba Junkie Liveaboards reserves the right to cancel any reservation prior to departure of the scheduled trip, if an inappropriate action or the behaviour of any guests justifies it.
• Scuba Junkie Liveaboards reserves the right to cancel or shorten a guest’s trip if they engage in any unsafe behaviours such as but not limited to, not following safety protocols or engages in any illegal activities during their stay.
• If fuel prices increase by more than 10% compared to the price as at 31 December 2025, Scuba Junkie
Liveaboards reserves the right to apply a fuel surcharge.

FORCE MAJEURE OR UNFORSEEN EVENTS
• For force majeure, unforeseen events, or any other reasons, Scuba Junkie Liveaboards reserves the right to modify, interrupt or cancel a charter trip when any unforeseen events occur.
• Force majeure / unforeseen events may include but not limited to: refusal or cancellation of navigation rights by the Labuan Bajo Harbour, flight landing delays, travel restrictions, strikes, riots, civil or international war, political or economic disturbances, coup, industrial dispute, terrorist threats or activity, fire, health risks, outbreak of infectious disease, quarantine, bureaucratic obstacles, government or other official intervention, inability to obtain or shortage of fuel, power, gas, equipment transportation or product loss, theft or damage to strategic equipment, climatic, seismic or volcanic events endangering the safety of our passengers, crew and the vessel.
• In the case of force majeure or unforeseen events, you will be informed by Scuba Junkie Liveaboards as soon as possible. In these particular cases, the guest may not apply for reimbursement or refund from Scuba Junkie Liveaboards. Guests who have travel insurance taking these unforeseen events into consideration, may request reimbursement directly with their respective insurance company.
• In case of technical damage occurred aboard KLM ELIYA, preventing the departure of the cruise, Scuba Junkie Liveaboards will either:
- Provide you with an equivalent service on a similar type of boat.
- Postpone the trip without charge to a later date.

GROUP BOOKINGS AND PRIVATE CHARTERS
• If you are booking as part of a group, and one or more members are not able to attend, their payment will not be able to be credited to the remaining group members.
- Rates and discounts will also reflect the new group numbers
-Park Permits cannot be moved to a new guest as they are linked to specific travel dates and guests,
new permits would need to be purchased subject to availability.
• All group payments must be made as a group
- i.e the 30% deposit and 70% balance payment for the trip.
• Groups of over 6 pax or more including charter boats require a minimum 6 months’ notice to change their booking date as a group.
- Changes made between 4-6 months before the start of the trip will be subject to a 25% large group moving fee and discounts will be adjusted to reflect the new numbers.
- Any changes to dates will be subject to the current published rates at the time of their rebooking.
• We require guest details to purchase Park Permit Fees, delayed details may result in being unable to secure a space for a guest as there are a limited number daily.

TRANSFERS AND LAND EXCURSIONS
• All land transfers are operated by third party (not by Scuba Junkie Liveaboards). We cannot accept responsibility for any damage to personal items, injuries, or any lost flights in the unlikely event of a cancelled transfer or longer journey time due to circumstances outside of our control, such as bad weather conditions / mechanical issues.
• Land based tours (e.g: Rinca Island, Padar Island, etc.) are operated using third party (not by Scuba Junkie Liveaboards) guides and Park Rangers. We cannot accept responsibility for any damage to personal items, accidents, injuries, thefts, or cancellations.
- Park fees and Ranger Costs can change without prior knowledge and at the expense of the guests.
• All park permit fees and land based excursion rate prices are determined by the governing bodies and subject to price changes. We will update you as soon as possible of any changes on pricing or regulations.
-All fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

OTHER
• Dive insurance is a compulsory requirement to be able to dive with us. Proof of insurance will be required before you can join any dives.
• We highly recommend general travel insurance in addition to dive insurance for your trip.
• Proof of diver certification will be required for certified divers, either via email, hard copy or E copy upon check in.
• We require a copy of your passport prior to arrival to ensure all permit applications go smoothly.
• Students completing a dive course onboard will need to ensure that their online theory is completed prior to arrival. Failure to do so will mean students will be unable to join the course.
• All guests are required to complete and submit the Liability Release form prior to the boats departure.
• Scuba Junkie Liveaboards reserves the right to change the destination of dive sites and land excursions depending on weather and other conditions if need be.
• Scuba Junkie Liveaboards assumes no responsibility, and/or offer no compensation for an injury, death or damage occurred to passengers, damage, or loss to passengers’ property.

Here on the KLM Eliya, we are working hard to reduce plastic use where possible. We would really appreciate your support with this!

• Reusable water bottle: We have water stations onboard. There are glasses and cups available. Each cabin has a KLM Eliya reusable water bottle to use during your trip (and can be kept as a great souvenir and our way to say thank you for choosing us!) You are welcome of course to bring your own water bottle to use as well :) 
• Toiletries: To reduce our impact on the environment and to help you reduce the weight of your luggage we have basic toiletries onboard. You will find shampoo, conditioner, shower gel in each cabin. All of our toiletries are bio degradable and reef friendly.
• Towels: Towels will be provided in each cabin as well as a towel robe for use on the dive deck.
• Reef Safe Sunscreen: We encourage all of our guests to use reef-friendly sun cream while onboard. This is available to buy in the office and onboard KLM Eliya. (SPF 30)
• Cash: There are ATMs and money changers in Labuan Bajo. Merchandise & drinks can be paid for by card onboard, but should you want to have an cash please make sure to bring
  with you before boarding.
• Valuables: Each cabin will be fitted with a standard safe where you can place all of your valuables. The Cruise Director will also have a ‘Boat Safe’ for valuables such as your passport etc.
• Rain protection: The majority of the time the sun is shining, but this is the tropics so it can rain (especially in January & February). A light raincoat and a woolly hat are a great way to stay warm between dives and in the evenings should you feel a little chilly.
• Medication: If you are on any prescription medication do make sure to bring enough for your whole stay - the pharmacies in Labuan Bajo are very limited. 
• Proof of certification: Whether it’s your certification card, log book signed by an instructor or us checking you on the PADI website - we’ll need to see proof you are a certified diver before we take you in the water.
• Insurance: Insurance that covers you for diving is a requirement due to the lack of a reliable chamber on Flores. We can assist you with a short term insurance when you arrive at the resort.

Refresher:
Not dived for a while? Not a problem at all!  We offer an abbreviated refresher that is designed to ensure you feel comfortable, safe and confident in the water, but will have as little impact on your diving day as possible! We run through some basic skills in the water and on the boat. We generally require people to do a refresher if they haven’t been diving for over a year, but this will depend on your experience level. Feel free to get in touch to ask us any questions about it. Oh, and by the way - it’s completely free! 

PADI Courses:
Students for all PADI courses will be required to sign the PADI medical form. Should you answer ‘yes’ to any questions on the medical form then you will need to be signed off by a doctor. There is a hospital and doctors in Labuan Bajo but to minimise the impact on your diving trip then please do this before your check in date. The doctors in Labuan Bajo are not dive specialists and so we highly recommend you get signed off by a specialist doctor prior to arrival.

Safety Procedures:

• Onboard Safety Features: KLM Eliya is fully equipped with onboard emergency equipment such as 02, GPS, radio, satellite phone, fire safety equipment and a full first aid kit accompanies us on every trip.
• No Fly Time: PADI recommend a No Fly Time of 18 hours after repetitive diving. The last dive of your journey will be on the morning of your final day so we recommend booking a flight that leaves after 6am the day after you disembark from KLM Eliya.
• No Decompression Limits: Here at Scuba Junkie we strictly adhere to dive safety protocol and we do not exceed our no decompression limits. Your dive guide will monitor your NDL times during each dive and please be pro-active in alerting your dive should you be nearing your limit. Should anyone exceed the NDL time on their computer we will assist on an extended surface interval. There are no refunds in this instance.

Each cabin will be fitted with a standard safe where you can place all of your valuables. The Cruise Director will also have a ‘Boat Safe’ for valuables such as your passport etc.

The exact weather can be difficult to predict in a tropical country. The forecast will be pretty much the same most days - sunny with a chance of rain and storms.

Here we tend to have two seasons - ‘Rainy season’ and ‘Dry season’. 

When is rainy season? 
Rainy season is generally December - March. It does not mean it will be raining all day every day, but that there could be some heavy rainstorms. These tend not to last too long and will have very little impact on your stay.

The diving is still great then, in fact it is in these months we see our highest number of manta rays!

In January and February we can get stronger winds, although it is rare this does mean that there are days when we are not given permission from the harbour master to dive in the park - this is something that applies to all dive centres in Labuan Bajo. To dive in the park without permission from the harbour master is illegal and so we must adhere to his rules. Or we may be restricted in what sites we dive. 

The rest of the year is considered ‘Dry Season’ but this doesn’t mean there will be no rain at all, it’s always a good idea to have a light raincoat with you, just in case ;)

The temperature here ranges from 23-29C depending on the
dive site, current movement and time of year. The months of November - March are colder months in the water. We recommend 3mm wetsuits, but of course if you get cold easily you may want to bring something warmer.

Gloves: The wearing of gloves is prohibited within the waters of Komodo National Park. If you have a medical reason to wear gloves you will be asked to provide a signed medical declaration from your doctor confirming this.

We choose the dive sites based on the currents, conditions, weather and where we think everyone will have the best experience that day. We never guarantee any dive sites in advance, although we do always take people requests into consideration and try our absolute best to do them. 

As a general rule: 

March - October: We predominantly dive the centre and north of the park.

October - March: We predominantly dive the centre and south of the park.

Dive computer rental
We have Mares Puck Pro dive computers available for rent. Having a dive computer is recommended by PADI but it is not mandatory. Our dive guides all have their own dive computers and will ensure that you are well within the no decompression limits. Should you want a dive computer during the dive then we do have them available to rent - numbers are limited so it can be a good idea to book one in advance!

We do provide dive computers free of charge for the Open water and Advanced Courses.

Camera rentals
We do have cameras available for rent but there are limited numbers. If you are keen to dive with a camera then please let us know so we can reserve one for you.

Rental equipment
Dive equipment rental is included in our dive packages! 

BCDs-We have Custom Jacket style BCDs with integrated weights, similar style to the Cressi Genesis Origin, from XS to XXL.

Regulators -We have Scubapro MK2 Evo regulators with yoke fittings.

Wetsuits: We provide 3mm long wetsuits from sizes XS to XXXL, as well as hooded vests. If you get easily cold then we recommend bringing a thicker wetsuit.

Masks: We provide 2-lens masks in both wide and narrow sizes. We do not have prescription masks available.

Boots and Fins: We provide Mares Super channel open heeled fins and boots from size 4 to 13.

Tanks: We use 12L aluminium tanks. All tanks are DIN style valves with Yoke inserts so can accommodate either regulator type.

We have a limited number of 15L tanks, if you would like to use them please be sure to book in advance.

Our packages include:

Dietary requirements 
Our talented chefs are used to cooking for all manner of dietary requirements. Vegetarian and vegan meals are easy to organise, but anything a bit more unusual it’s best for us to have advance notice - given the remote location and limited access to markets.

Do let us know of any dietary requirements when you make your booking. 

** Included Transfers (Komodo):

Included in your package is a free transfer each way. This means we can offer the following options for your pick up and drop off:

Option 1: Transfer directly from the airport to your hotel in Labuan Bajo

Option 2: Transfer directly from the airport to our office in town (due to the early morning flights occasionally being delayed, we would only recommend this as a last resort. If you do choose this option, please ensure your flight lands by 9am to give you the best possible chance of not missing the boat!)

For your transfer back- the same will apply:
Option 1: Transfer directly from our office in town, to your hotel in Labuan Bajo (this will allow you time to clear any bills you might have, or if you would like to purchase any mementos such a T-shirt, log book etc!)

Option 2: Transfer directly from KLM Eliya to the airport. Please note that any outstanding bills must have been paid before departing the KLM Eliya if you do not go via the office. If you choose this option, you should ensure your departure flight is not before 3pm – this mean swapping your last dive for a snorkel trip instead to ensure you have had plenty of time to off-gas!

** Included Transfers (Raja Ampat):
Included in your package is a free transfer each way. This means we can offer the following options for your pick up and drop off:

Option 1: Transfer directly from your hotel in Sorong to KLM Eliya in Sorong Harbour

Option 2: Transfer directly from Sorong airport to KLM Eliya in Sorong Harbour (due to the early morning flights occasionally being delayed, we would only recommend this as a last resort. If you do choose this option, please ensure your flight lands by 10am to give you the best possible chance of not missing the boat!)

For your transfer back- the same will apply:
Option 1: Transfer directly KLM Eliya in Sorong Harbour, to your hotel in Sorong.

Option 2: Transfer directly from KLM Eliya to the airport. The drive from the harbour to the airport is a short 15 minute drive away. We advise booking flights with departure 12pm or later to give yourselves ample time.

There is a daily national park fee for any activity done within the park. 

For foreign nationals:
           Divers: 275,000 IDR
Snorkellers: 250,000 IDR

For Indonesian citizens (KTP Holders):
Divers:   75,000 IDR Monday - Saturday
                100,000 IDR Sundays & Public Holidays

Snorkellers:  75,000 IDR Monday - Saturday
                          100,000 IDR Sundays & Public Holidays

• These fees are applicable per person per day.  These fees are subject to change.

Drone Permits
• It is possible to fly your drones within the National Park boundaries and the birds-eye view of the islands is absolutely spectacular!
• You MUST have obtained a Komodo National Park Drone Permit to be able to fly in the Park.
• This permit must be applied for in advance of arrival. Our bookings team can do this on your behalf.
• You will need to provide a copy of your passport photo page PLUS a photo of your Drone License as well as the full specs of your Drone being used. If you do not have a License you will not be able to obtain a Permit.
• The price for this is currently 2,000,000 IDR per day (please note, if you book this separately from your dive or snorkel permits, the permit office will charge you an additional 250,000 IDR per day).

There is a yearly Marine Park & Entry Fee ticket fee when visiting Raja Ampat

Foreign Nationals: 1,000,000 IDR per year
Indonesian citizens (KTP Holders): 725,000 IDR per year

Land Excursions: 350,000 IDR per person per excursion (if applicable)

Nitrox tanks are available as an upgrade. Please let the booking team know at the time of reservation if you wish to upgrade your tanks. A supplement fee is applicable. 

To upgrade all of your tanks in advance to Nitrox will cost:
(2026 trips) 6D5N: $120 per person*
(2027 trips) 6D5N: $130 per person*
*All package upgrade rates are only available for pre-booking/ pre-paying prior to arrival

Divers planning to use Nitrox will need to show proof of a valid Enriched Air (Nitrox) certification and will be required to use a dive computer for all dives.

Nitrox tanks are available as an upgrade. Please let the booking team know at the time of reservation if you wish to upgrade your tanks. A supplement fee is applicable. 

To upgrade all of your tanks in advance to Nitrox will cost:

7D6N: $110 per person*
8D7N: $125 per person*
9D8N: $140 per person*

Divers planning to use Nitrox will need to show proof of a valid Enriched Air (Nitrox) certification and will be required to use a dive computer for all dives.
